FIGHTERS ELIGIBILITY

Requirements for registration with Fighting Spirit will include an accurate fighter's record. There must be an honest declaration of Fighters previous combat sports experience.

MINIMUM AGE OF FIGHTERS

The minimum age to be ranked as an adult is 18 years of age. The minimum age to be ranked in under 18 divisions is 14 years of age. Under 18 amateur fighters may be required to wear head protection.

PRE-FIGHT REGULATIONS

Any fighter competing in our events must be examined and approved by a Doctor to establish both physical and mental fitness to compete. The medical examination must be performed on the day of competition.

WEIGH-IN

Fighters will be weighed the day before competition. Weigh-In time and details will be determined by Fighting Spirit.

MAKING WEIGHT

If a fighter fails to make the specified weight, he will forfeit 15% of ranking points if the fight takes place. If both fighters are overweight, both will be subjected to penalties according to the above rule.

FIGHTERS CLASSIFICATION

Fighters will be divided into 4 categories. Classification will be defined by the number of bouts a fighter wins, not the total number of bouts they compete in. Clasification will be as follows:

  • N class -3 wins
  • C class +3 wins
  • B class +6 wins
  • A class +12 wins

SUSPENDED FIGHTERS

Any fighter who is currently under suspension will not be permitted to participate in any amateur or professional event for the duration of his suspension.

RANKING

Fighting Spirit Kickboxing has an official ranking system that is based on the performance of a fighter. During the ranking year, ranking is determined by winning or losing ranking points:

  • Every registered fighter will start with 1000 ranking points. Fighters can earn points through regular fights and tournaments. Points will only be awarded if both fighters are registered with Fighting Spirit.
  • In a regular fight, the winner scores points equal to 25% of the loser's current points, or 35% for a (T)KO.
  • If a fighter loses to a lower-ranked opponent, he loses 25% of the points difference between him and his opponent.
  • Example 1
Fighter A (1000 pts) competes against fighter B (800 pts). If fighter A wins by decision, he scores 200 points (25% of 800). Fighter B will not lose any points.
  • Example 2
Fighter A (500 pts) competes against fighter B (300 pts). If fighter B wins by knockout, he scores 175 points (35% of 500). Fighter A will lose 50 points (25% of 200)

FIGHT SCORING/JUDGING RULES

Awarding of points shall be based on the following elements:

  • Whether an effective and accurate attack is acknowledged and damage is inflicted on the opponent using legal techniques.
Notes: Under K-1 Rules all strikes, (punches, kicks or knees) are only valued by the damage inflicted. Strikes landed without effective force do not score. Agression: The fighter who is pushing forwards will have the advantage if the number of strikes scored by each fighter is equal, and one fighter was clearly more proactive in attempting to attack, should win the fight.
  • Agression: The fighter who is pushing forwards will have the advantage if the number of strikes scored by each fighter is equal, and one fighter was clearly more proactive in attempting to attack, should win the fight. Points will be awarded in this priority:
    • Number of downs
    • Extent of damage inflicted on the opponent
    • Number of clean hits
    • Degree of aggressiveness (points in the offensive)
    • If contestants are otherwise equal and one contestant clearly fouls consistently, that contestant who violates the rules loses the round.
